Le Sigh

Someone asked me forever ago what my desktop background was. At the time I had a stunning Arthur/Gwen background that I kept for nearly 6 months. Then I went down the Jake Gyllenhaal route and had his gorgeous gracing my laptop. Now, I'm back to Merlin. Well Arthur actually. I've had this background for nearly a week now and melt everytime I close down all my pages.

Summer & Sickness

Usually I'm always the one clamouring to get outside when its gorgeous but this weekend I've been the total opposite. Last year our summer was a total washout - this year its the total opposite. Its almost unbearingly hot - take yesterday I went on a bike ride with friends and by the time I came back I had sweated off all my makeup. Yeah. Ugh. I think the heats making me ill. I fell asleep to Merlin last night at around 2ish and then woke again and 4am and couldnt sleep because of the heat - even with the windows wide open I had kick off all my covers (and I HATE sleeping without my duvet). I swear I started hullicinating or having really fucked up dreams. You know the ones where you think you're screaming? And you try and stop only to wake up and find your actually not screaming. Yeah, confusing. I had one of those amongst other bizarre scenarios. Eventually I drifted off to sleep at around 5:30am only to wake up at 8, pad to the bathroom, go back to bed then wake up at 11. I am refusing to go out today no matter how fucking gorgeous it is out there, I refuse! I feel sick, I have a headache (so going on the laptop maybe isnt the best thing to do) and I'm bored. Bored, bored, bored. I'm posting on this thing because Livejournal is sucking ass right now. As is Tumblr. I want to sleep, I want an ice cold pepsi from KFC, I want to stop feeling bored. Ho hum, I'm glum.

Football and Sorts

I'm not a football fan. Far from it in fact. Yet even I got excited at the prospect of England competing in the world cup - oh the shame Georgia! Meh. Anyway. I ended up watching US vs. UK of course supporting our boys, we played fucking awful in the second match but today we brought it back and won against Slovenia (is that how its spelt? I actually have know idea). I tuned in during the last 10 minutes to see we were one nil up and managed to keep it that way until the final whistle blew. I doubt we'll go far - I mean Portugal is practically owning everybodies asses 7 nil WTF?! - so if England drop out I'm totally supporting Portugal or Brazil I'm not fussed. Went out for lunch/dinner (it was about 3pm which is an odd time to eat a main meal) with my mum and cousin (18, fake boobs already and blonde hair - shes easy to picture right?) and of course, my mum and I argued over me wanting to swap jobs. Hey! Dont get me wrong, I'm all for waitressing and asking if you want thick crust but Pizza Hut is NOT where I want to spend the rest of my life. Just to prove a point I printed off a bunch of CV's and am planning to hand them all out as soon as i've finished revising (i have my final politics exam ugh) which i am sure to fail. No lie. My mums talking irritably loud on the phone (and they moan teenagers do that?! yeaah you havent met my mum - she's youngish (38) for a mum of an 18 year old so i guess she believes shes still as young as me, no.) - well anyway thats what I get for bringing my laptop outside in the garden where she's currently gossiping. But its too nice to sit inside we never get weather this good in England, I sure as hell am making the most of it. My tumblrs spazzing up, badly. Dunno why though, its being gay, not letting my upload/or even get onto my dashboard. Fuck you tumblr, fuck you. Big Brothers on again tonight! I dont usually watch/keep up with it but this year i'm actually hooked thanks largely to the form of Australian hunk John James - oh yeah he has 2 first names, god knows why, I guess he's special I guess. I suppose I could blag my first full name is Georgia Eden, thats pretty believable, but - oh dear i'm rambling again about complete nonsense, whatever. I need a drink, i'm thinking red bull and something fruity to eat, maybe pineapple? Yeah. Pineapple.

The Mortal Instruments

Okay so I've found a new obsession. Amazing huh? They go in the form of the novels entitled 'The Mortal Instruments' written by American author Cassandra Clare. And they are amazing. Seriously. I remember buying the first in the suspected 4 novels 'City of Bones' last year but after stupidness on my part I left my copy on a plane after an 10 hour flight to America (longest ours of my life) I only got 100 pages into it but it was good. On Saturday I was in Smiths and saw the book once again and ended up buying, reading it that entire day and found myself fast becoming a Jace Wayland fangirl - the shame. Anyway. Yesterday I bought the 2nd and 3rd novels; City of Ashes and City of Glass. I finished City of Ashes yesterday (took me around 6/7 hours) after I stayed up until half 1 determined to get to the last page, all I can say is: thank god for late classes today. I started City of Glass this morning after my mum decided to make enough noise to wake a deaf person, so I spent a few happy hours in bed reading Clary Frays latest adventure. The books are kinda beyond anything I thought they would be. I sort had this preconcieved idea of how they would pan out. How wrong I was. I vowed to myself I wouldnt touch another vampire related novel again after I read and hated Breaking Dawn. Luckily The Mortal Instruments are nothing like Twilight, the heros are in the shape of 17 year, god like looking guys named Jace Wayland. Clary did begin to bother me a bit in City of Ashes - I always end up hating the heroine jealously probably - but luckily she's convinced me in COG. Before I read them I did a bit of wiki searching so finding out about Jace/Clary being "siblings" in the book hardly surprised, nor will it when I discover that they arent actually related and that madboy Sebastian is in fact her dear brother. Sorry I'm totalling spoiling it for anyone who hasnt read as far or will begin to read the series. Whatever. Maybe I should have put "spoilers" in the heading, meh. I've been youtubing a load of Clary/Jace videos but all the ones i've found (except a select few) actually stick to the story, vidders are too busy cutting and editing clips of Wild Child and having Emma Roberts pose as Clary. Uh no. I might draw up my own "ideal" cast - naturally Mr Alex Pettyfer is my pick for Jace. I dont think there is actually anyone out there that would fit a fictional character as well as Pettyfer, he just screams Jace. I mean his American accent would have to be worked at (I mean have you seen the trailer for Beastly?) but apart from that the boy is perfect. When the film is made they had better choose Alex for Jace anyone else chosen, I doubt, will be welcomed with open arms by the millions of fangirls. Its time Twilight met its match, and I think this is it.

I dont really have a favourite "new" show I guess the Vampire Diaries is new this year for the UK - but I'm ahead (on Ep20) thanks to excessive online watching.

Gossip Girl. Dont hate me. I used to love it - until I got to Season 3 and got bored and irritated as hell with certain characters. I dont "hate" it but, I try and avoid it.

Sins of the Father - Merlin. I dont even know why its my favourite (besides lots of Arthur/Bradley James) goodness I just love it. Unexplainable.

Hmm... I'm dont really dislike many episodes of Merlin but I'd have to say Season 1 Ep 6 - A Remedy to Cure all Ill's I just found it totally pointless and added nothing to the storyline whatsoever. I think I've only ever watched it twice.

Merlin. No really, when I first heard about it and glanced at it a couple of times I'd roll my eyes in boredom. Now it practically own my life. Also Robin Hood is seriously good and The Vampire Diaries - I kinda tried to stay away from anything Vampire related but The Vampire Diaries is too addictive and Paul Wesley *faints & swoons at the same time*.

A show that disappointed you
Gossip Girl. It had so much potenial. Also Legend of the Seeker some of my friends who watch it online and bigged it up BIG time, and I barely got through the first episode without becoming bored.

I cant think of a title to name this post, because really I have no idea what I'm going to write. I just needed somewhere to vent - quietly. You know those annoying arguments you get into with your mum? Yeah? Well I'm in the middle of one of those. She's been moaning - ever since she got home about an hour ago - about her laptop isnt connecting to the internet. Fuck knows why, I'm hardly a PC guru. Anyway, so she goes next door to our neighbours (whose allegedly this computer whiz although all his help in the past has never helped, its just hindered) it also doesnt help that he barely speaks English. Anyway she invites him in and then they both come barging into my room - apparently they have to mess up some shit on my laptop to get my mums laptop to work. Um. No. She even makes to take my laptop - which I'm USING! - into the living room. Thats when I hit the roof. Not at all bothered that my neighbour is standing in my room, I start arguing with my dear mother, reminding her of the fact that my Dad paid for my laptop and its my Dad who pays for my wireless internet. Who the fuck does she think she is demanding use of my internet connection?! Its time like these that I wish I lived with my dad. My neighbour tried cutting in - with his thick German accent - but I barely listened. And now there both down in the living room trying to fix the problem without the help of my internet or laptop, over a cup of tea -sigh-. My Mum is my worst enemy sometimes. She knows I wont let her access my internet so why the hell did she think it would be any different this time? Oh because our neighbour is in the room? Yeah, I dont think so. Todays been crap anyway. Even though I finished college early I was faced with a boring afternoon of politics revision that I barely got through without youtubing. Plus our shoppings meant to be arriving tonight so our house is bare and my stomach is rumbling unattractively. I just want the day done. I want to get into bed and watch Merlin all evening with a bag of haribo mix and hot chocolate - odd combination sure but I dont care.
Oh the German dudes gone - he even called up bye to me which I didnt respsond to. Yes I'm rude, yes I'm childish and guess what? I fucking love it.

Obsession: Merlin Style.

I have to say (unfortunetly) I'm one of those people that can get overly obsessed. Okay, wait that sounds slightly scary. Put it this way, when I first read Twilight (back in 2007) I went ape shit over it, I totally loved it and when I heard a film was being made, I kinda went ape shit over that to. My love for Robert Pattinson formed which meant I had to wait out in the freezing, december, cold to get his autograph at the Twilight premiere. I hate to say it but i was obsessed. Now - 3 years on - I look back and cringe (kinda like when you look back at your old bebo and shudder). Thankfully I've seen sense, in fact anything to do with Twilight - minus the exception of Kristen Stewart who is pretty badass - I now hate. Anyway. I didnt think I'd get hyped over anything like Twilight (well with the exception of Harry Potter - but that goes without saying really if your british), but then I discovered the BBC's show Merlin. I first heard about it when it first started because my cousins watched it. I remember walking in their living room and them having it on, rolling my eyes, commenting on how shit it was, and walking back out. I even - once upon a time - turned over one saturday night from Merlin (I distinctly remember it being S1,Ep3 when Arthur, Merlin and Morgana are in the caves.) How stupid I was. If only I had totally understood what the show was about I could have become hooked on it a long time ago. Whatever. So earlier this year I was bored and started poking around trying to find somewhere to watch The Vampire Diaries, and then I came across a website which not only houses VD but Merlin. Shrugging I clicked on the first episode just to see... and immedietly became hooked. Call me a sucker for everything medieval, whatever. I've always loved History - British History. Most of the fictional books I own are set in Medieval times. The majority of films I possess are set in that period. So Merlin was right up my street. Plus I've always been interested in the Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot legend after watching Sam Neils, 1998 (i think?) Merlin film which I have on DVD and used to watch religiously. But now I have a new addiction. When I first watched Merlin I had to watch the second episode, and then the third... and so on. I became so addicted (trust me the show does it to you) that I would spend most of the night watching them - thankfully my discovery started in half term so I could roll into bed at whatever time. I can honestly say for 2 weeks I watched every episode of Merlin. And then I had to find if they were on DVD. Luckily they were. HMV only sold the 2nd series boxset so I had to make do (although admittedly Season 2 is better than 1) then a week later I was browsing WHSmiths and discovered the boxset of S1 and bought it. Now, every night, I watch an episode and fall asleep to it. If not I usually listen to the Season 2 soundtrack - oh yeah I found it baby after much extensive searching that drove me totally crazy. Most of my friends (who dont watch it) think I'm mad, but I've got a couple of others into it and we spend most of our days going over episodes, DVD commentaris, Arthur/Gwen or the hot stuff that is Bradley James. Unlike most Merlin fans I adore the Arthur/Gwen relationship. Sure, okay, it was a bit rushed, but they only have 13 episodes they cant drag it out for 6 can they? Everything about Merlin I adore, I love magic/make believe/fantasy/princes/adventures etc... and so its no surprise that Merlin is my favourite TV show. Its not at all like you expect when you first hear about it and, boy, is it addictive. Most nights I'm usually Youtubing anything to do with the series, reading fanficions or watching it. Worrying huh? I cannot wait until the 3rd series comes out which is why I'm booking a trip to France for next month halfway through June to - not only see Paris again - but to get some good spoilers for S3. I seriously hope they develop the Arthur/Gwen relationship (keep away Lancelot you goodlooking man!), I hope Morgana seeks some sort of revenge on Merlin annnd Merlin must tell Arthur about his magic, orrrr Arthur discovers it for himself.
